In Model United Nations, we are just that: a model of the United Nations. At various conferences that we attend, we replicate (simulate) the United Nations in regards to a particular issue. A month or two before the conference, which are held all over the world, attendees obtain their assigned country and issue (also called their committee assignment). Students then research how their country feels on the issue and identify their allies. At the conferences, students debate with other students from all over the world that have been assigned a country just as they have. At the conference, students work to create a resolution which outlines the steps that they believe the United Nations should take to alleviate the problem at hand.
